The STP Shipyard Palma team recently carried out its annual fire drill, a key activity in boosting safety skills at the yard that tests the team on providing a quick and effective response in case of an emergency. This exercise, conducted in partnership with fire protection experts, sets out to ensure that staff are fully prepared to deal with any eventuality.
On this occasion, scenarios were simulated in both open and closed spaces, using the groundbreaking and highly effective Elide Fire Ball, a solution designed to extinguish fires quickly and safely. This device allows responders to act quickly in places that are difficult to access, providing an ideal solution for emergencies.
During the drill, the team had the chance to practise with the ball in real-life situations, improving their responsiveness thanks to this tool.
The exercise was divided into several stages, with a specialised team in charge of supervising and guiding the whole process. STP workers received hands-on training in the use of fire extinguishers, hoses, and other essential equipment, in addition to receiving constant feedback to hone each action. This drill bolsters the theoretical knowledge acquired in previous training sessions, while also testing practical skills in a controlled but realistic setting.
